Goals and Impact
Habitat for Humanity provides no-cost repair services to homeowners in the local community. Habitat for Humanity works to preserve homes in addition to building them.
Location
Volunteer locations vary based on current and upcoming repair projects. Volunteers will either work on the outside or inside of a home to complete repairs.
What to Expect
Each project will be different depending on what the homeowner needs. Some common repair projects include:
- Painting
- Replacing boards on porches, stairs, or ramps
- Gutter cleaning
- Basic landscaping (pruning, trimming, weeding, etc.)
- Cleanup and junk removal
- Weather stripping
Each project requires an initial assessment which includes taking measurements and photos of what needs to be repaired.
Qualifications and Restrictions
Must be at least 18 years old.
A background check is required in order to complete any repairs inside the home.
